Shoulder Injuries
The shoulder consists of four distinct joints and is known for being the most mobile, but also the most unstable, joint in the body. Its stability and overall arm function depend on a coordinated interaction between muscles and joints. While this mobility is crucial for a wide range of movements, it also makes the shoulder prone to injury, whether from trauma or repetitive strain. At S.O Massage, we often treat a variety of shoulder-related issues, including:
- Ligament sprains, such as AC joint sprains
- Rotator cuff injuries and tendinopathies
- Sub-acromial Pain Syndrome (SAPS), like sub-acromial impingement
- Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)
- Muscle and ligament tears
- Tendon issues, including biceps tendinopathy
- Shoulder dislocations or subluxations
- Fractures of the humerus or collarbone
- Shoulder pain originating from the neck
